The Country & Western Festival Frutigen, to be held in central Switzerland from August 13-15, 2021, has succeeded in winning the exceptional American musician Jim Lauderdale for his only performance this year in Europe on August 14 in Frutigen. Jim Lauderdale, a 2-time Grammy winner, is one of the most eminent singers and songwriters of the American Bluegrass and Americana scene. With performances at major festivals in Europe, he has gained an enviable reputation. In Switzerland, he has repeatedly been invited to the Montreux Jazz Festival. In Frutigen he will be supported by Paul McBonvin, the musical jack-of-all-trades from the Valais, Their collaboration goes back years. July 30 will also see the release of Lauderdale’s 34th album, “HOPE,” with 13 tracks focusing on hope, courage, and perseverance. With this album, Lauderdale also expresses his expectations for the future.
