Once again, the State of Wyoming has provided us with some really good country music thanks to the new album by Tris Munsick & The Innocents entitled “Washakie Wind”. The Cd (available at http://www.trismunsick.com/ and on all the most important online platforms) is divided into 10 tracks of pure country music, with that taste of all good things of the past. It opens up with “Roots” with a steel guitar intro, making it clear that steel and fiddle will be really important instruments throughout the album. Many beautiful and significant songs such as “If Horses Had Wings” and “Palomino”, two songs that express the whole cowboy soul of this album which, as in the best tradition, when you think of prairies, ends with “All In The Wind”. On the other hand, as Pablo Neruda wrote: “El viento es un caballo: óyelo cómo corre por el mar, por el cielo” (The wind is a horse: feel how it runs for the sea, for the sky). Getting back to “Washakie Wind”, I would also like to point out “Little Games”, certainly the most catchy song of the entire Cd, made for the radio. In conclusion, a perfect album for those who love good country music and the charm of the American West. (Gianluca Sitta)
