Lanco (short for Lancaster and Company) is an American band composed by Brandon Lancaster (lead vocals), Chandler Baldwin (bass), Jared Hampton (keyboards), Tripp Howell (drums) and Eric Steedly (guitar). Formed in 2013, thanks to an intuition of Jay Joyce (Little Big Town, Brandy Clark, Osborne Brothers), who is able to spot talent when he sees it. In 2016 they released an EP entitled “Lanco”, (4 songs), which reached a certain notoriety thanks to the song “Long Live Tonight”. In this EP, however, there is another song, “Greatest Love Story”, that helped launch the band to stardom. “Greatest Love Story” is a good song, perfect for radio stations. In fact, it reached the top of the charts, opening the way for “Hallelujah Nights” (Arista Nashville), the band’s first real album. Lanco interpret a fresh and modern sounding country music. The new Nashville sound is certainly the most characteristic feature of this Cd, but the arrangements, and in particular, the quality and care of the vocals confirm a certain continuity with tradition. “Hallelujah Nights” is a vital and dynamic album, where the voices and music merge into 11 very catchy songs. “We all go through more of the same experiences than we realise and songwriting is a process of observing those moments,” affirms Lancaster. ”Our stories have different people, different names, different places, but they all have the same emotions attached to them. It’s not fantasy-related. To me, this album is about glorifying the reality of life.” They are currently on tour with Dustin Lynch, and then, with Chris Young, Lanco is definitely “The band to watch “. (Gianluca Sitta)
