“Sing in me, Muse, and through me tell the story of that man skilled in all ways of contending.the wanderer, harried for years on end.”Thus spoke Homer in his introduction to one of the most well known epic sagas of all time, and just like Odysseus, John Schneider’s career has taken him to the most diverse shores of entertainment and it is with great pleasure to see our hero come home victorious from what no doubt was a recording task of Herculean proportions which has yielded “The Odyssey The Journey.”As soon as our ears are treated to the fest few bars of “Early Or Easy” we know we have something special on our hands and John shows not only his vocal prowess but also his grit, sense of humor and charm. From cheeky numbers like “Crazy Women” and “No Mas Cerveza” we are treated to more heartfelt tunes like “Heartache Doesn’t Have A Closing Time” and “Like A River” where Mr Schneider’s pipes provide a smooth suave carpet of musical magic. There is also the chance for the Mount Kisco native to show his more critical side with the thought provoking “Give God The Blues” which is a sure standout in anybody’s playlist. It would certainly be a trial to list every single song on this project but what we can say is that John has brought his ship in successfully and that the treasure of tunes that abound is likely to delight and entertain. Welcome home John! (Nik Bernitz Pizzigoni)
