Canadian singer-songwriter and actor MacKenzie Porter, who will be making her debut in London and Glasgow next month at C2C Festival as a Spotlight Artist, recently released ‘Pickup‘ which has so far received over 40 million global streams.
Since moving to the U.S. in 2014 from her native Canada, MacKenzie has developed a radiant music style which threads the needle between traditional heart and modern energy. Her “mesmerizing vocals and hook-driven songs” (Billboard) have sparked a list of headline-worthy accolades. While music is – and always has been – her greatest love, she’s also built a successful career as an actor, which has allowed her a certain freedom to continue to develop her already substantial chops as a performer and songwriter. Even during filming for the popular Netflix sci-fi drama, ‘Travelers’ in Vancouver, MacKenzie wrote whenever she could. “We actually flew songwriters up from Nashville so I could do writing retreats. So I’d be on set for 16 hours and then go write songs, but I really function better creatively when I’m just go, go, go.”
MacKenzie has most recently collaborated with Cheat Codes on ‘One Night Left’, Dallas Smith on ‘One Too’, and ‘Thinking ‘Bout You’ with Dustin Lynch.
