Definitely one of the most successful country Cd’s of this year. Bobby Wills comes from Canada (specifically from Calgary AB) and makes his return with this “If It Was That Easy”, produced by Mike Pyle ( producer for Blake Shelton and Lee Ann Womack) and with the participation of Walt Aldridge, successful songwriter who has worked with the likes of Tim McGraw, Travis Tritt and Reba McEntire. A great CD as I was saying, sung with a fantastic voice, which reminds me even that of Garth Brooks, and played in a perfect early 90’s style, when modern country music was at its peak. The sound of the steel and the fiddle have finally returned, and they blend nicely with the modern arrangements, but not too much, and the 10 tracks flow with a hard hitting sound. Being overall, a very good album, there are songs that stand out more than others. I’am referring to the title track “If It Was That Easy” to “Somebody Will” and “Highway And A Song”. Great attention is paid to detail, “If It Was That Easy” also makes use of captivating graphics and then, finally, a cowboy hat reappears on an album cover. The only drawback, having been published in Canada by Onramp Records (a small subsidiary of EMI), the CD is not readily available through normal channels, but can easily be purchased through itunes.
