An artist who has kept Europe’s country dance floors packed and provided inspiration for new and improved dance routines, Malta’s own Marty Rivers delivers yet another fun filled album of memorable tunes with his latest offering, “Midnight Sky”. Though like yours truly, you may not be the most accomplished dancer, as soon as the title track begins you will find it very hard to restrain yourself from standing still and get your fingers snapping and your toes tapping. With a voice which has been likened to Dwight Yoakam’s (try listening to “Lora Mae” and prove us wrong), Marty leads us through 11 stellar tracks, which show exactly why he is not only considered a national treasure but one of Europe’s country acts which should not be overlooked. Special mentions for “Run Angel Run” and “Louisiana Girl” ; the former already enjoying airplay and is being danced to all over the old continent while the latter is a ballroom pleaser in the making.
